Seiko Turtle 6309-7040 Vintage 150m Automatic Diver's Watch Black Suwa 1979

€700,00

SEIKO TURTLE 6309-7040 — 150M AUTOMATIC DIVER — MAY 1979

First series Turtle, with SUWA dial. Three independent elements
confirm that the dial and case are original:

- Serial number 954370 on the caseback → May 1979 (verifiable Seiko coding)
- SUWA mark on the dial → produced only until 1980
- Dial code 6309-704L → matches the case reference

For the 6309, this is what matters most: many are found reassembled
with replaced or refinished dials. Here, everything adds up.

Seiko 6309A automatic caliber, 17 jewels, 21,600 vph, power reserve ~47 hours

Like all 6309s, it has no manual winding or hacking seconds: this is the
normal operation of the caliber, not a defect.

Checked in our workshop before listing. In working order.

CONDITION — WE TELL IT LIKE IT IS

Forty-six years of history, and it shows:
case with signs of use and widespread scratches, faded bezel insert,
oxidized lume. Non-original brown leather strap, in used condition
(22 mm lugs: can be changed in an instant). No box or papers.

This is not a restored piece and it doesn't try to look like one. It is an honest,
original, wearable Turtle.

GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE BUYING

Accuracy: on a mechanical watch from 1979 that has not been recently serviced, timekeeping
may deviate from the original specs. Normal for a vintage piece.

Water resistance: the 150 meters is the factory rating from 1979. At
this age, gaskets and seals cannot be verified or guaranteed.
DO NOT submerge, do not get wet.

Do you want it serviced by our workshop, or with a rubber strap
instead of the leather one? Write to us via eBay BEFORE purchasing: we will prepare
a dedicated listing with everything already included in the price.

The photographs are of the actual watch, not stock photos, and are part
of the description.
